Happy 17th Sarah!

Yesterday was our 3rd daughter's 17th birthday and I had a hard time with that? I have had two daughters before her turn 17 at some point, but who knows..just feeling nostalgic I guess.  She loves ALL THINGS VINTAGE, girl gets it from her mom...;)  I started out by layering Soft Suede onto Very Vanilla card base and then I stamped the Lovely Lace background in Gold Metallic ink onto Canvas paper.
I cut a piece of Gold Soriee DSP to put behind the stamped butterfly, in which that is the Swallowtail stamp, and it is stamped in Gold Metallic ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock.  I ran a piece of Gold Ribbon behind both of the layers and tied a bow. I thought it would be pretty to add some Venetian Crochet Trim just over it to add some vintage feel to it.
I stamped out the Happy Birthday in Coastal Cabana onto Very Vanilla and used the Finishing Touches Edgelit die with Coastal Cabana card stock to add a little more pop of color, and what says vinatage than that gorgeous color! I finished off the card with three Basic Pearls that I colored with my Coastal Cabana Blendabilites.
I think I love this card more than any card I have ever made.  I may frame it for her (or for my stamp room-lol)...

Ballon Bash Slider Card

Good Monday everyone! I hope you all have a great weekend.  This weekend I had a card class and a workshop afterwards.  My hostess asked me to make a peek a boo card, and well, it didn't end up being what I started it out to be. However, she liked it and that's all that matters.  I made my card base from Hello Honey card stock and and a piece of the Irresistbly Yours Specialty DSP that you can earn FREE during SAB and brayered Coastal Cabana ink over it. I adhered them together and used my Circle Framelits to cut through both layers at the same time.

I then took two of the Circle Framelits and layered them onto a piece of Gold Glimmer paper and cut them out so that I got just a rim of gold.  For the "shaker" part of the card, I used a 4x6 cello bag and punched a bunch of little stars out from the Confetti Stars punch and stuck them in the bag, cut the bag in half and sealed it with washi tape and then to the front of a piece of Lullaby DSP and then to the inside of the Hello Honey card stock base. I added a piece of Coastal Cabana punched with the Scallop Edge punch and a strip of Baked Brown Sugar that I ran through the Big Shot with the Polka Dot embossing folder.
For the insert, I layered a piece of Whisper White onto Coastal Cabana and stamped the birthday sentiment from the stamp set Balloon Bash in Smokey Slate and the balloons in Hello Honey and Coastal Cabana ink.
I made the tassel out of Gold Baker's Twine. (the random gold star is there because I stapled the tassle onto the insert, but couldn't get it to come out easily, so it tore my paper so I had to cover it.)
Well, I'm off to the store to get some Valentine's candy for finishing some projects to be mailed out. Have a fantastic Monday!
