Nuts About You

So, today, I'm going to post another July Class card and also one I took as a swap with me to Convention. I fell in love with this Hostess stamp set Nuts About You when I saw it and knew it was going to go on my first order.
Started with a Very Vanilla base and then layered onto it the Calypso Coral and a piece of Baked Brown Sugar that I ran through the Big Shot with the Woodgrain folder.  I cut a Very Vanilla banner from the Banner Framelits and stamped the tree in Baked Brown Sugar.
I added some little flowers in Daffodil Delight from the Itty Bitty flower punch and then glued a little Gold Sequin into the centers.  I stamped the little bird on a tree branch in Soft Sky and the squirrels in Calypso Coral ink.  I used my Fringe Scissors to cut a piece of Old Olive card stock to resemble grass and then a piece of Daffodil Delight ribbon was stapled across the bottom.  I finished the card off by stamping the Nuts About You in Daffodil Delight and onto Very Vanilla card stock and punched it out using the Petite Curly Label punch and popped it up with a Dimensional.
Today, my family has plans and I chose to stay home and work on card classes for August.  I hope you have a wonderful Saturday.

Sweet Watermelon

What a beautiful day it is, after having STYFILING heat yesterday! I am thankful that I get to work in the house on days like that.  And speaking of that, it's kind of funny that in the midst of the heat, I sat up my stamping classroom yesterday for my Christmas in July Stamp a Stack today.  I have so many photos to show you, and sadly, realized, I forgot to share July card class cards.
I saw an idea on Pinterest for a watermelon card and decided to make one out of some new product as well as some that is still current, but not neccesarily new.  I started with an Old Olive base, and added a Melon Mambo layer, but scored it on the left side so that the opening is just a flap not a full front.  I ran another piece of Old Olive thorugh the new Zig Zag folder and layered it onto the Melon Mambo flap.  The inside is just a layer of Whisper White (for writing on).  For the watermelon, I stamped out the gingham circle in Old Olive from the stamp set Kind and Cozy and punched it out with the 2 1/2" Circle punch. I layered a 1 3/4" circle of a design from the Sweet Taffy DSP pack into the center of it and then cut the whole thing in half. I added the seeds, wait for it..............I used the new Itty Bitty punch pack HEART and punched out 2 hearts and cut them in half. Yep, that's it! Cute huh?  For the sentiment at the top, I used Cycle Celebrations and stamped out the label shaped stamp in Melon Mambo and punched it out and then stamped it again in Momento Black ink and punched it out using the Large Oval punch and used a Dimensional to adhere it to the middle. I had some extra supplies left over, so a select few got this card as a swap for Convention.  Well, I'm going to finish my coffee and wait for my stampers to get here. Have a super Wednesday!

SMILE!

Wow! What a week! I just got home at 2am this morning from Salt Lake City, UT for Stampin' Up's Convention! I'm believe it or not, well, rested, but still feel like I could take a nap.  But no time for that today, I am on overload and excitement STILL!   I wanted to share a swap I made and shared while out there.  This card was made by layering Whisper White cardstock twice.  On the top piece, I glued a piece of Tangerine Tangelo DSP onto it, and wrapping a piece of White Baker's Twine around it and then clipping it with a clothespin from our  new In Color collection, the stamped image of the stamp Snapshot that I stamped in Chocolate Chip onto Hello Honey card stock and rounding the corners.  I punched out a Lost Lagoon  circle and popped it up with a Dimesional.  I punched out a some hearts with the Hearts Border punch using the leftover scraps from the DSP.
I stamped the SMILE using the Epic Alphabet stamp set, in Lost Lagoon and Tangerine Tangelo ink.  The photopolymer set makes it so EASY to put them all on one block and stamp one time!
Well, I'm off for now, I have a million things to do before my Christmas in July Stamp a Stack on Wednesday.  I hope you find some inspiration in today's post.
Happy Stamping!
