Tap!Tap!Tap!

Here is card #4 of 5 for August.  I used the stamp set Tap!Tap!Tap!  I layered Pacific Point cardstock onto Very Vanilla and then used another piece of Very Vanilla as my "canvas".  I used a Sponge Dauber dipped in Chocolate Chip ink and stamped randomly all over it.  Then stamped the typewriter keys in Chocolate Chip at the top kind of off the page for a more unique look.  I layered two strips of two different colored paper, one is Pumpkin Pie cardstock and one is Pacific Point DSP from the Stack, flagged both at one end.
I stamped the typewriter in Chocolate Chip onto Very Vanilla and punched it out using the 2 1/2" Circle Punch and layered it onto a circle cut from the Circles Framelits in Chocolate Chip.  I stamped the hello my friend in Pacific Point and added a Melon Mambo heart from the Heart Border Punch.
I hope you all have plans this weekend to spend time with family. Happy Labor Day!

Dear Heart

Today's card is from the stamp set Dear Heart.  Now that I have grandbaby BOYS, I can enjoy purchasing these sets because before all I had was GIRLS! How fun!  The only thing I would change about this card, yeah, I forgot to put his baseball cap on...:( Anyway, I ran a piece of Basic Black cardstock through the Big Shot with the new Large Polka Dot embossing folder and adhered that layer to a layer of Cajun Craze.  I stamped the dinosaurs in Sahara Sand ink onto Sahara Sand cardstock.
I stamped out the face on Whisper White with the Momento Black ink pad so that I could color in his face and hair with Blendabilities.  I LOVE how I can do his face and not have a single streak! And as for the hair, I colored it with a darker brown, and then the magic...I used the Color Lifter to lighten it up.  Almost as if he has highlights.  LOVE!  I stamped the frame out in Cajun Craze ink onto the same color cardstock and punched it out, layering the face on top with Dimensionals.  I used some White Baker's Twine and Candy Dots/Brads to make it a hanging.  I stamped out the sentiment in the Momento ink also onto Marina Mist and flagged the edges.  I stamped out the baseball and colored it with Blendabilities and punched it out, adhering it with a Dimensional.
I'm excited that I have my first Project Life class tonight, so I must get scootin' to finish up my paperwork to hand out to them.  Just got my SU! box delivered and I dno't even have time to get my YEEHAW stamp out to play today..GAH! LOL

You Rock!

I seriously Laughed Out Loud when I saw this stamp in the book! It became one of my favorites.  It's actually called You Rock and it's a single wooden stamp and it could be altered to make two stamps out of it, by cutting off the You Rock part and placing it on the opposite side of the wood block, just in case you wanted to use just the sentiment or just the rocker.
It is a simple card using the masking technique.  I stamped the rocking chair in Momento Black ink, and then again on a scrap and cut out just the rocking chair to use for the mask.  I placed the cut out on top of the cardfront chair, and then inked up two of the Border stamps, the hearts in Real Red, and the dashed lines in Old Olive, and then stamped each one seperatley over the mask.  It gives the illusion of the rocking chair sitting on top of the border. I punched out Old Olive and Real Red flowers from the Boho Blossoms punch and the center of the flower from Daffodil Delight from the 1/4" Circle hand held punch.  To finish it off, I colored two different size Basic Rhinestones with red and yellow Blendabilities and adhered them to the card.
