Celebrate Today!

Here is a card that I made for a little friend of Jenna's who is turning 8.  I hadn't even inked this stamp set until now and I can say that the set and the coordinating dies are so awesome!
I started by layering Daffodil Delight onto Whisper White base and then another piece of Whisper White for the "canvas" for stamping on.  I stamped out the balloon carrier in Smokey Slate directly on the paper and then again on a scrap of the Sweet Taffy DSP and cut it out and popped it up on Dimenionals. I punched out some "clouds" using the Cupcake Builder punch out of the same pack of DSP and glued them randomly around on the white.  I die cut 3 of the balloons using Sweet Taffy DSP and folding them in half and then attaching them with Fast Fuse together to make it 3D.  I cut the banners from the same die set out of Silver Glitter paper and attaching with Mono Multi glue. I adhered it all down to just cover the strings on the carriage and tied a Basic Gray Baker's Twine bow in the corner.
I stamped out the Celebrate in Melon Mambo across the bottom and then finished it off by stamping birthday in Basic Gray ink onto Melon Mambo card stock and flagging one end.
Sadly, the little girl didn't end up inviting Jenna to her birthday as she had told her she was going too, but we will give her the card anyway.  She is heartbroken, but what do you do? Be the bigger person and teach her that giving is good. Thanks for stopping by.

Big Day!

Who can pass up a cute font and birthday stamp set? Well, I couldn't and you shouldn't! Did you know that during Salebration, (January 6th-March 31st) you can earn this very stamp set FREE! Yep! FREE! So, I got the idea from another demonstrator for the layout, but changed out the colors and layout a bit.  I stamped the candles in each dot of the Whisper White that I ran through the Large Dots(which is on the WEEKLY DEALS this week!) embossing folder, using Real Red ink.
I then stamped out the main image in Tempting Turquoise onto Whisper White and punched out using the 2 1/2 circle punch and then stamped the same sentiment/image onto a scrap of Whisper White in Daffodil Delight and fussy cut out just the "celebrate" and popped it up over the turqouise one. (My apologies for the abnormal fussy cut, but my eyes are not young anymore...) Then I flagged the ends of a piece of Tangerine Tango cardstock and cut it in half and postioned it to poke out on each side.  I colored three Basic Rhinestones (didn't take a close up of them, so refer to the top photo) with one of my Pumpkin Pie assortment  of Blendabilities.
I stuck a piece of folded Black Chevron ribbon behind it to just make all the color pop a little more on this card.  So, I hope this might help you decide on another free item to get with your purchase during this limited time offer.
Thanks for stopping by!

Lotus Blossom

This was probably the most popular card at class this month. (Also the most CHOSEN Salebration stamp set, 29 of my 30 club members chose it as their FREE!)   I have to say that I thought it might overwhelm, but I stuck to one color, Calypso Coral versus trying to make them crazy with more than one color.  I'm glad I did, not only did it keep things calm, I love how it turned out with one color. I used Chocolate Chip, Calypso Coral and Newsprint DSP to layer the card base.
So, as I said, I stamped the flower in Calypso Coral in all three layers.  I stamped the stem in Wild Wasabi and the sentiment in Gold Encore all onto Very Vanilla card stock and then used the new  Ornate Tag Topper Punch to punch the top and where I then added a bow made from Gold Baker's twine. I punched the edge of a piece of Gold Glimmer paper with the Scallop Edge punch and glued it just behind the tag.
I had some choose the stamp set because of the flower, but had a couple want it JUST for this little saying.  I think I like the whole set! ;)
