Fancy Folds Card Class-Card #1

It's a Wacky Fold card....it is so simple even though it doesn't look it.  The card base is Early Espresso and the front is layered with Pretty in Pink ran through the Fancy Fan folder.  I then punched the edges of a piece of So Saffron with the Scallop Edge punch and picked out a scrap of Tea For Two DSP and wrapped Early Expresso Baker's Twine around it and stuck it all down over a Doily cut in half.  I then used the stamp set Collage Curios and stamped out the words in Lucky Limeade and the Butterfly in Early Exresso, punched it out with the 1" circle punch and adhered it inside a Bottle Cap that I ran through the Big Shot to lay flat for sending.  I don't do videos yet, so I don't have any easy way to tell you how to do the inside fold, other than if you attended the class, you have the directions! lol

Build A Blossom

Where did April go? Wow, I just realized that I hadn't posted anything from card classes...Anyway, I had designed this card before the retiring list came out so little did I know that this cute set and coordinating punch were going to be on the list.  The flower petals (from Build a Blossom) were stamped in Daffodil Delight onto Daffodil Delight cardstock and punched out.  The stem is from the Bird Builder Punch out of Old Olive cardstock and the center of the flower is from the 1 3/8" circle punch from Early Expresso and ran through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dot folder.  I used the Woodgrain embossing folder with Cherry Cobbler and layered on to that some more Early Expresso and Whisper White and stamped a sentiment(one I love very much!) in EE from the stamp set From My Heart.  Added some little Basic Rhinestones to finish it off.  Tommorrow I will start posting some of my cards we did at our recent Fancy Folds Classes!

Up, Up and Away

Okay, so I found this card in my "Artisan Attempts" from two years ago and thought I'd share it since two of the products on the card are retiring very soon.  The Brights Print Pack(which is the hot air ballon colors and basket) and the Up, Up and Away stamp set(the words on the clouds). I cut strips of Brights DSP from the Tasteful Trim Die and glued it to a strip of tag board and then ran it through the Big Shot using the 3" Circle die.  I popped it up on Dimensionals over a stamped hot air balloon(forgive me, I cannot remember the name of the set)in Basic Black ink.  I paper pieced the basket.  I then added a heart from the Owl Builder Punch and stamped the words onto Whisper White cardstock and punched out with the Cupcake Builder punch and popped them up on the card.  I tied some ribbon onto the strings of the balloon and finished it off with some Basic Rhinestones.

Fun Graduation Card/Money Holder

I made this card to demonstrate at a workshop recently and used the school colors she taught at so that she could actually use the card. I started with a piece of Pacific Point cardstock 7 1/2 x 6 1/2 and scored at 3/4,  2 1/4, 5 1/4, and 6 3/4 on the 7 1/2" side.  Fold the 3/4" and 6 3/4" sides away from the center, and the remaining two the opposite way.  For the cap, cut a piece of cardstock of Pacific Point  5 1/4 " x 5 1/4" and score at 1 1/4" on all 4 sides. Fold under and glue to form the cap(add a tassle and brad to it-don't laugh at my tassle to badly, it's not pretty ugly-I used White Baker's Twine and Brights Real Red Glimmer Brad).  Glue it to the left hand portion of the card.  I made a belly band to hold mine shut, and forgot to write down the measurements.  I colored the stamp from Word Play with Pacific Point and Real Red markers and stamped onto Whisper White cardstock and then layered it onto a piece of Real Red and then onto the belly band. I punched out some Silver Glimmer stars using the Itty Bitty Punch Pack and popped them up on Dimensionals.  (This is a money holder, but I didn't have any cash on me to put inside to photograph).

Handmade Gift Bag from 12x12 DSP

This is going to be a very quick post, because it's late and because I finally found this photo and I can't remember the name of the DSP I used. I know it's retired, but it's a blur.lol I started with two pieces of 12x12 matching DSP and scored at 3" on 3 of the sides and 1" on the 4th side, folded and taped it up. Yep, pretty much that easy, except for two cuts I made and I don't have a diagram to show you, but once you score, you'll see where it needs to be cut in to.  (The top of the bag is the 1" score).  I punched two holes on each side of the bag for running the Certainly Celery Satin ribbon (also retired) through for handles.  For the tag, I stamped the Wrapped Occasions stamp set in Chocolate Chip ink onto Whisper White and cut it out, and mounted it onto Certainly Celery cardstock and rounded two corners. I then stamped the cake alone, in Certainly Celery onto Whisper White and cut it out and popped it up over the first one and added a Calypso Coral heart from the Owl Punch and one Basic Rhinestone and hung it from the bag using some White Baker's Twine.  This is a GREAT way to use up retired DSP!

Pop Up Posies Kit-Stepped Up version

One of the newer things that SU! has been leaning towards in the past year has been KITS! I love the kits....so many of us as demonstrators hear so many ladies who are just too busy with life, too often say how they'd love to make cards and "get into this" (like it's an addiction or something? lol) but just don't have the time.  Well, here's the solution.  This Pop Up Posies Kit (#131395) p. 18 in the Spring Mini, comes with a ton of stuff! I did this as a stepped up version at a recent workshop, and all that means is I used some other product that I wanted to showcase, and showed the versitility of all of our products.  I started with a Crumb Cake cardstock base, and ran a piece of Pool Party Coor'dinations cardstock through the Big Shot using the Honeycomb Folder and sanding it with our sanding blocks.  And then I pulled a piece of patterned paper from the Print Poetry pack (#129312-also in the Mini catalog-p. 16) and ran a strip of Summer Starfruit through using the Finishing Touches Edgelits and adhered it to the back of the patterned paper and down onto the card.  I then took one of the panels that come in the kit and punched two holes in each side and tied some of the twine like fiber (also comes in the kit) to each side. I layered 3 of the Calypso Coral flowers that come in the kit together and stuck it down with Mini Glue Dots. For the center of the flower, I used the Spring Surprise promotion that is going on right now:

I used the 7/8" Scallop Punch and snipping in just a tiny bit to make it into a flower and then stamped the thank U from the stamp set in Midnight Muse ink and punched out with the 1/2" circle punch and popped it all up on Dimensionals and of course added a Basic Rhinestone.  I also wanted to share a card I showed at the same workshop that is just basic, but wanted them to get the sense that this kit was so easy to use that anyone could just pull it out and make a card in literally minutes! 

Happy I Do Day! Stamp a Stack #5

Okay, so for those of you who attended, please note, there are not as many Basic Rhinestones on this card as YOURS! lol, Now before you think I "tortured" you and made you put on those pesky(BUT BEAUTIFUL) things to the amount that I did....I took some off of mine to use on another project, yes, I said, ANOTHER project! Now, before that makes you scratch your head, it happens alot more than you know in my house...I somehow cannot make a card without them and when you use them as much as I do, then you run out quickly!
Okay so this one is pretty simple...I ran a layer of Whisper White cardstock through the Elegant Lines Folder and layered onto a Whisper White card base. I cut Basic Black circles using the Circles #2 die and used the 1 3/4 Circle punch for the layer of Whisper White that I stamped the Happy I Do Day on.  If you click on the photo, you will be able to see the little Rhinestone I used on the top of the ring. I punched out a Small Butterfly from Cherry Cobbler cardstock and adhered it with Glue dots and added another Rhinestone..(see why I don't have any ever...). I then added 3 flowers from the Flower Trim with Glue Dots and  I finished it off by spritzing with my mixture of Shimmer Mist Paint and rubbing alcohol.

 ****I dyed the flowers in Cherry Cobbler reinker and water for a couple of days in a ziploc bag and then air dried them on paper towel for a couple of days.
